TechnoCompound adds 4,800 t/y of LGF compound capacity

TechnoCompound is expanding long-glass-fibre reinforced thermoplastics production at Bad Sobernheim, Germany, with a new line adding 4,800 tonnes/year of capacity.

The additional line is scheduled to enter operation by the second quarter of 2027, according to the company’s 24 September press release. The expansion will be implemented without substantial changes to the technical concept of the existing production operation.

TechnoCompound currently has total compounding capacity of 60,000 tonnes/year at Bad Sobernheim. Its portfolio ranges from commodity-based formulations to engineering compounds and thermoplastic elastomers, with automotive and automotive suppliers representing its principal application market.

The company also produces long-glass-fibre compounds containing 25–60% post-consumer recycled material. It highlighted structural automotive interior components among the applications targeted by these grades.

TechnoCompound said the capacity increase was being made in response to higher demand for long-glass-fibre reinforced compounds. The company did not disclose the investment value or identify the supplier of the new production line.
