INEOS Backs EU PVC Anti-Dumping Investigation

INEOS said it welcomes the EU PVC anti-dumping investigation into imports from China, Taiwan, Mexico and South Korea, while urging the European Commission to accelerate trade-defence procedures. In its 30 September statement, the group said PVC imports had increased by 100% over the preceding 12 months.

The company said it has filed, or is in the process of filing, 20 major trade-defence actions covering polymers and chemicals, double the number since November 2025. INEOS called for more resources for DG Trade, simpler case preparation, faster provisional measures and wider use of safeguards.

INEOS also linked its argument to carbon intensity, claiming that Chinese chemical production based on coal energy and feedstocks can have a carbon footprint more than four times that of equivalent European production.
