NEW CAR REGISTRATIONS DECREASE 5.2% IN MARCH 2024

New car registartions decrease. The European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) reported a 5.2% decline in EU car registrations in March 2024, totaling 1 million units.

Easter holidays adversely impacted sales, leading to significant decreases in Germany, Spain, Italy, and France.

Despite the drop in March, the first quarter saw a 4.4% increase in registrations, with nearly 2.8 million units sold, ACEA noted.

Battery-electric vehicles saw their market share decrease to 13%, while hybrid-electrics rose to 29%, according to ACEA data.

Battery-electric car registrations fell by 11.3% in March to 134,397 units, mirroring the broader market downturn, ACEA detailed.
