EU construction shows a mixed picture. Construction production in the Eurozone and the broader EU region witnessed a modest rise of 0.2% in May 2023, in comparison to April 2023, reports Eurostat, the statistical arm of the European Union.
This rebound is particularly significant as it follows a drop of 0.6% and 0.8% in the Eurozone and EU, respectively, recorded in April 2023.
In a year-over-year comparison, May 2023 demonstrated mixed results. The Eurozone saw a slight uptick in construction output by 0.1% compared to May 2022.
However, the EU as a whole experienced a decrease of 0.4% during the same period. The fluctuating figures highlight the varied impacts and recovery rates from the economic fallout across different regions in Europe.
