Trinseo lowers PS prices in June. Trinseo, a global provider of specialty material solutions, and its European affiliates, have announced price decreases for customers in Europe.
They will be lowering the prices of several polystyrene (PS) grades.
Effective from June 1, 2023, or as per existing contract terms, Trinseo will implement price reductions on select PS products, benefiting both contract and spot buyers.
The widely recognized general purpose polystyrene (GPPS) grades, marketed under the reputable names STYRON™ and STYRON™ X-TECH, will see a substantial decrease of €75 per metric ton.
Additionally, the high impact polystyrene (HIPS) grades, including STYRON™, STYRON A-TECH™, STYRON C-TECH™, and STYRON X-TECH™, will also see a price reduction of €75 per metric ton.
The decreases follow a decline in raw material prices for the month of June versus May.
In June, the benzene contract price decreased by €110 per metric ton, and the styrene contract price also dropped by €127 per metric ton, leading to an overall reduction in the cost of production.
