EU auto markets show solid growth. The European Union (EU) car market witnessed a significant surge in new car registrations during April 2023, according to ACEA (European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association).
However, total numbers remain significantly lower than in 2019.
The EU registered a total of 803,188 units sold, marking a remarkable growth rate of 17.2% compared to the previous year.
All major EU markets observed this encouraging performance, with Italy leading the way with an impressive 29.2% increase.
Despite this positive year-on-year improvement, sales in the EU car market for the same period remained 22.8% lower than the corresponding timeframe in 2019, indicating the ongoing challenges faced by the industry.
