BASF Group preliminary Q1 2023 figures released. BASF Group has released its preliminary Q1 2023 results, indicating that sales decreased by 13.4% to €19,991 million compared to the same period in the previous year, which is significantly below the expected analyst forecasts.
Despite this, the EBIT before special items of the company’s Agricultural Solutions, Chemicals, Materials, and Surface Technologies segments exceeded average analyst estimates, while the Industrial Solutions and Nutrition & Care segments missed the estimates slightly and considerably, respectively.
The EBIT before special items in the Other segments was weaker than the average analyst forecast. Nonetheless, BASF Group’s net income surged to €1,562 million in the first quarter of 2023.
