Despite the recent decreases the long-term price of gas will most certainly not return to its previous level of around €20 per megawatt hour.
The shift away from cheap Russian gas will most likely prevent a complete reversal in gas prices.
As such polymer prices will decrease but will also not return to the levels seen in the past.
The shift away from relying on Russian gas could cause a permanent loss of competitiveness of the European polymer industry.
