
Borealis buys majority stake in Renasci, boosting its commitment to a circular economy.
The company bought a stake in Renasci of 10% in 2021 and it has now increased it to 50.01%.
The acquisition is part of Borealis’ plan to reach circular goals. The company targets a “six-fold increase in the volume of circular products and solutions to 600 kilotonnes by 2025, rising to 1.8 million tonnes by 2030.”
Rensaci, a Belgium-based company, recovers resources from waste streams and diverts them back into the production cycle.
Borealis produces and supplies a variety of chemical products including polyolefins, base chemicals, and fertilizers.
