INEOS Styrolution increases PS prices by €140/mt in January versus December, according to the company’s latest communication.
Meanwhile, the company’s surcharge on high impact polystyrene (HIPS) is €120/mt over the price of general purpose polystyrene (GPPS).
The announcement reflects the increase in the price of the monomer raw material, styrene. The monthly contract price for styrene in January increased €115/mt.
The increase in styrene follows a recent spike styrene spot prices and an increase of €145/mt in the January contract price of benzene, a key feesdstock of styrene.
