Trinseo issues price increases on ABS, SAN and PS in May versus April, amid firmer raw material prices.
In a note on its website the company noted that polystyrene (PS) will increase €90/mt.
Styrene acrylonitrile (SAN) and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) will increase by €60/mt.
The increases follow yet another increase in the contract prices of the major raw material styrene in May, which went up €84/mt.
In terms of market dynamics, the PS market was relatively tight because of supply issues.
The picture was different for ABS and SAN. The SAN market has seen no change and remains well supplied.
But the European ABS market during the last few months has been gradually moving from a position of severe tightness to balanced-to-long.
