Polycarbonate (PC) prices increase in April versus March, according to the latest assessments by GC Intelligence.
Prices for most buyers increased between €150-300/mt depending on type of account. The additional increases have taken valuse in the mid-€3,000/mt.
While the market is no longer tight and has become more balanced, the surge in costs supported the increases.
However, the increases were not as much as producers were targeting. A possible slowdown in demand brecause of destocking amid rising prices likely helped buyers negotiate lower increases.
What is more, demand was also getting softer because supply chain disruptions accentuated by the war were reducing production rates in downstream markets.
