EU CAR REGISTRATIONS DECLINE 22.8%

January 21, 2022

EU car registrations decline 22.8 percent in December 2021 compared to December 2020, accordingto data from the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA).

Car Sales

The numbers showed a fall for the sixth consecutive month.

After a strong recovery in March, April, and May, car sales in Europe have slowed substantially.

Polymer buyers supplying the industry continued to note in January that demand from the sector was down 20-30%.

The main reason for the subdued activity is the shortage of semiconductors, which could last well into 2022.
