INEOS Styrolution will end FM (force majeure) on ABS in September.
The company had declared FM at its site in Antwerp, Belgium, at the end of July.
In a recent note to clients, INEOS Styrolution said that it plans to lift FM on ABS from the site on the first of September.
The FM added more stress on acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) supply in Europe.
The ongoing shortages resulted in yet another price increase in August which was bigger than the increase in raw materials costs.
Nevertheless, slowdowns in demand because of seasonal factors and shortages of raw materials downstream eased some of the pressure.
But the ABS market in Europe is still expected to remain relatively short in 2021. This is because disruptions such as logistics are expected to continue to impact supply for months.
