The European market has been getting tighter every month since 2H 2020.
PA66 shortages drive the price rally in Europe, with values gaining €230/mt in February, according to GC Intelligence market analysis.
This is the third consecutive month that nylon 66 (PA66) engineering resins prices post gains.
And the magnitude of the increases has been on the rise since January, a situation that continues in March.
The jump in demand after the summer and during the second wave of the pandemic surprised all players.
As producers struggled to satisfy the strong demand, an element of panic buying made the situation worse.
Moreover, with multiple supply chain disruptions, exacerbated by the cold weather in the US, the global shortage turned critical.
As nylon 66 (PA66) natural supplies dwindled, sellers achieved big increases in January and February.
And most likely, this trend will continue in March and possibly April as there is little to suggest an ease in the current situation.
