Roehm increases PMMA prices by €300/mt across all grades, according to a recent press release.
Roehm noted that the polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) increase will be effective from 15 March 2021.
Meanwhile, the increases will also apply to polymethyl methacrylimide (PMMI) moulding compounds.
And the increases are also for the Asia pacific region.
The reason given for the announcement of higher prices was the recent increases in costs.
Indeed prices of the main raw material methyl methacrylate (MMA) spiked recently, according to GC Intelligence assessments.
With the recent bad weather in the US, MMA spot prices climbed even further, now trading substantially above €2,000/mt.
In addition, the ongoing disruptions in the shipping market continue to add further price pressure on many raw materials across the polymer industry.
