The styrenics value chain looks set to remain supported after the recent climb.
INEOS Styrolution increases prices of PS in February, according to a recent note on the company’s website.
The company said the gross market price for general purpose polystyrene (GPPS) will increase €30/mt from January to February.
And the increases are valid from February 1st, 2021.
In addition, the surcharge for high impact polystyrene (HIPS) will be €100/mt.
In the past few months, PS prices gained ground, following higher upstream costs and good demand.
And in February the value chain looks set to remain supported.
PS is an aromatic polymer, made from the monomer styrene. And its main uses are packaging, building insulation, fridges, and appliances.
