Roehm Announced Price Increases On MMA And PMMA

October 28, 2020
There is upside momentum on prices currently due to a tighter market balance.

Roehm announced price increases on MMA and PMMA in Europe, effective from 1 November.

The company said that it will increase prices of its methyl methacrylate (MMA) and other monomer products.

And the increase, depending on the product, will be 2-5%.

MMA prices in Europe have increased since the summer.

MMA spot prices are around €200/mt higher in October compared to July, according to GC Intelligence market analysis.

Meanwhile, Roehm announced price increases also on polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), in Europe and Asia, according to a separate note.

And the increase of €200/mt on PMMA was also effective from 1 November.

The reason given for the increase on PMMA is the recent increases in raw material costs.

In the past two years PMMA prices have decreased from the peak reached during a period of considerable tightness amid good demand.

The pandemic amplified the price weakness in 2020.

However, in the past few months, better demand, higher costs, and tighter supply are supporting price increases on PMMA in Q4.
