DSM Announced Price Increases for PA6

September 2, 2020
The higher prices will help to offset the latest increases in costs.

DSM, a global chemical company headquartered in Herleen, Netherlands, announced price increases for Nylon 6 (PA6) from September.

The company noted on its website that prices will increase for PA6 polymer grades for film, extrusion and injection moulding.

DSM announced price increases for PA6 in Europe, Middle East and Africa, South America by €150/mt. And in North America by $0.08/lb.

Moreover, the increases will be “where contracts allow.”

P6 prices in Europe have been on a downward trend.

P6 prices in Europe have been on a downward trend since the beginning of 2019 and have only recently found stability.

This downward trend was mainly a result of trade wars and then the coronavirus pandemic hitting demand all along the chain.

However, prices have been stable since June even if costs have been increasing.

Nevertheless, the seasonal upward momentum should also help support higher PA6 prices in September in Europe.
