The company noted on its website that its ABS and SAN prices will increase from May to June in Europe.
Trinseo, the global manufacturer of plastics and rubber, announces prices increases on SAN and ABS of €80/mt and €70/mt. This follows an increase in activity after countries start to open up, and consts continue to increase. Crude oil has jumped back up to above $40/bbl and is pushing up raw material costs. Costs are also going up because demand for derivatives is increasing.
Trinseo announces prices increases on SAN and ABS also after a few months of declines. According to GC Intelligence market analysis ABS in Europe decrased €65/mt in March, €185/mt in April and €65/mt in May. At the same time, SAN followed the same direction. The GC Intelligence price indicators for SAN show a decrease of €85/mt in March, €180/mt in April and €45/mt in May.

INEOS Styrolution, another major global styrenics producer, also says in a note on its website that it will increase ABS prices from May to June.
There seems to be upward momentum on both demand and costs that could result in higher prices in June. However, while it is early in the month to make any assessments, there are some indications that Asia imports are being offered at very competitive prices. This will mean that buyers will most likely fight hard to avoid the full increases in June.
