LONDON (GC Intelligence) — BASF, the German chemical company, announced price increases on Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT).
The company said PBT prices will increase by €50/mt with immediate effect and as contracts allow.
PBT prices have been under pressure lately because of poor demand, competitive imports and heightened uncertainty.
PBT is used in the auto sector sector, in applications such as connectors, sensors housings and fuel system components.
Other uses include electrical and electronics, in switches, circuit breakers and power sockets.
