LONDON (GC Intelligence) – INEOS Styrolution, the global styrenics supplier, announced that it will decrease polystyrene (PS) prices in December.
The company, in a recent message on its website, noted that its gross market price for general purpose polystryrene (GPPS) will decrease €25/mt from November to December.
The company also mentioned that the surcharge for high impact polystyrene (HIPS) will be €100/mt.
This announcement follows a decrease of the styrene monomer price amid a lacklustre market environment along the value chain.
The GC Intelligence polystyrene price assessment from October to November was a decrease of €65/mt for both GPPS and HIPS.
Another decrease, albeit smaller than in November is expected in December.
PS is used in protective packaging, such as CD and DVD cases, containers, lids, bottles, trays, disposable cutlery, yogurt cups and refrigerator liner.
